National Women’s Council of Ireland calls for ‘360 degree change’ in Budget 2016
The National Women’s Council of Ireland (NWCI) has called on the Government to ‘turn it around for women’ by investing in three key areas in Budget 2016: Early Years Care and Education, Violence against Women and Decent Work.
Speaking at the launch of its 2016 Pre Budget Submission today, Orla O’Connor, Director of NCWI said: “We cannot afford a budget that offers more of the same or only small adjustments. Budget 2016 must invest and deliver an Early Years infrastructure that is of high quality accessible and affordable.”
Earlier this year, Taoiseach Enda Kenny pledged to cut childcare costs and reform and invest in early childhood care and education services.
